Sue's Advent Calendar for 2008

Yet again I defied all rational thought and tried to populate Sue's Advent Calendar with 24 new gifts. I think I did pretty well this year.

Not mentioned below is the Christmas Carol I printed off for one day. This item received mild disinterest as it looked like I'd just printed one off the internet instead of sitting for ages trying to write something that fitted. Next time I will remember to use references that are Sue-specific so the penny drops.

Also not shown (because Sue has "put it down somewhere" is the little keyring with a tiny LCD screen for showing up fifty pictures you can download to it over USB.

Lead penguin figures! Who can resist penguins at Christmas? Two days here - a charm for your mobile phone and a keyring.

A pig-shaped key cover Two fridge magnets
An octopus brush which dispenses washing up liquidPurple hair stuff
A hole punch that makes reindeer confettiMunchkin bag and die (two days - sneaky); die inside a die for when you need to roll two dice at once
Mini Strawberrettes chocolatesThis guy is a combination of various Christmas decoration arts and crafts materials. The bowl is just so he stands up straight as he was designed to sit in an advent calendar pocket.

Creative use of plastic bottles that came with pizzas. This one (Lurve Potion #9) contains various ingredients from the kitchen - food colour and flavourings - so it's safe to taste although it will turn your tongue blue for a while.  Another bottle containing many tiny hand-cut hearts.
More handicrafts. My photo is on the reverse of the balsa wood heart.A purple pencil sharpener

A hanging sign informing all of the universal usage of a hugIsn't this guy great? This is Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Bat. Good use of map pins, balsa wood, cardboard, ClipArt and glue.

Strange bit of perspective - both boxes are actually the same size. But I digress. When buying presents, pay attention to detail. My gift is at the front (with the correctly spelled name) whereas the pen at the back is from a work colleague of Sue's.
